Stacey McNamara, Medway High School graduate, receives a $500 scholarship check from Jack Hamilton, President & CEO Charles River Bank.

Charles River Bank Scholarships Presented

June 15, 2009(MEDWAY, MA) Promising students help build strong communities. This conviction held by Charles River Bank is demonstrated with the Bank’s annual scholarship award. Charles River Bank President & CEO Jack Hamilton recently presented scholarship awards to the 2009 recipients, Stacey McNamara and Jeff Pearson. Both students are 2008 Medway High School graduates who have successfully completed their first year of college.

In prior years there has only been one recipient of the $1,000 scholarship; but the scholarship committee felt these two students were equally deserving of the scholarship, so each received $500. To apply for the scholarship, students must work part-time at the Bank or participate as a teller in Charles River Bank’s School Banking Program where juniors and seniors are selected to work for school credit in the Medway High School branch. There students learn about banking operations and regulations, financial services and marketing. McNamara and Pearson were student tellers for two years at the Bank’s educational branch facility, which is located in the lobby of Medway High School. In addition, Ms. McNamara worked part-time at Charles River Bank’s Main Office branch during her senior year of high school.

Ms. McNamara completed her first year at Curry College and is enrolled in the Nursing program. Mr. Pearson has finished his first year at Northeastern University in the Pharmacy Program.

"We are proud to recognize these talented students who have strong academic records, are involved in their community and have made a positive contribution to the school banking program," stated Jack Hamilton, President & CEO of Charles River Bank. "Stacey and Jeff are both delightful and worthy recipients.“
