The New England Association of Retail Lenders Hits $60,000 in Charitable Donations
Feb 9, 2005—The New England Association of Retail Lenders (NEARL) concluded the first half of the 2004 - 2005 program season with its annual Christmas Fundraiser on December 8, 2004 at Ken’s Steakhouse in Framingham, MA.
This year’s event, consisting of a raffle, auction and direct contributions of members, raised $8,595 to be distributed among Children’s Hospital and the Salvation Army operations of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Vermont. Since 1994 NEARL has raised $60,000 in total contributions benefiting a number of New England’s charitable organizations.
Terry Reilly, NEARL President, stated, "Once again our bank, credit union and associate membership demonstrated a deep and abiding commitment to helping those most in need during the holiday season."
For over 60 years, NEARL, an association of banks, credit unions and affiliates from all New England states has represented the retail lending industry in the Northeast. NEARL is a non-profit organization whose mission is to monitor consumer lending legislative issues and to dispense important operational information to its members.
Prior meetings in 2004 featured; Patrick M. Browne, Chief Operating Officer of the Colonial Automotive Group, which owns and operates ten new car dealerships in Massachusetts as well as a consumer finance company, a reinsurance company and a real estate holding company, discussing the recent move to consolidation of the retail automotive business and Richard F. Cahill, President and C.O.O. of Jack Conway & Company discussing Real Estate Trends in New England.
