Medway Co-operative Bank Means Community—Local Bank Shows Substantial Support
Feb 18, 2005, Medway, MA—Over $30,000 was showered on community groups in 2004 by Medway Co-operative Bank. Demonstrating a serious commitment to supporting friends and neighbors, the Bank has made financial and other contributions to a wide variety of causes. More than thirty-five recipients benefited from Medway Co-operative Bank’s philanthropic support, which is a high priority for the 90-year old financial institution.
Caring for community has been a significant aspect of the Medway Co-operative Bank mission throughout its long history. The past year was definitely no exception to this tradition. From its scholarship program for Medway Co-operative Bank High School students to elder organizations, Medway Co-operative Bank participated in many diverse events and supported many valuable programs in 2004. Some of the contributions went to youth sports teams, to benefit auctions, and to other fundraising efforts of local non-profit groups. Major benefactors included the Milford Regional Hospital Capital Campaign, Franklin YMCA, Medway Co-operative Bank Amatuer Basketball Association, and Medway Co-operative Bank Youth Soccer. Some other organizations that received support were Tri-Valley Youth Hockey, Claflin Hill Music Performance Foundation, Medway Co-operative Bank Youth Baseball, and the Medway Co-operative Bank Lions Club.
Additionally, Medway Co-operative Bank donated thousands of dollars to produce its annual September community festival, last year entitled Cruise & Blues. The Bank successfully collected more than $3,400 through Cruise & Blues fundraising efforts for the benefit of the Medway Co-operative Bank Fire & EMS Association.
Beyond financial support, the officers of Medway Co-operative Bank provide their leadership and financial expertise to many local non-profit and civic organizations including the Medway Co-operative Bank Foundation for Education, the Medway Co-operative Bank Business Council, Hockomock Area YMCA and the Mendon/Upton Education Foundation. Other staff members are active in the Medway Co-operative Bank Lions Club and Milford Area Chamber of Commerce.
